AARP is offering free tax help to patrons with low to moderate income, special attention to those 60 and older. LIMITED SPACE, REGISTRATION REQUIRED, YOU MUST HAVE A RESERVATION. Those filing joint returns should only make one reservation; couples filing separately are asked to reserve different slots. Appointments can be made for any Thurs. starting Feb. 2 and ending on Apr. 6. Appointments begin at 9:30AM and end at 12:30PM. Contact the Hussey-Mayfield Memorial Public Library at (317) 873-8341 for registration, or register via our Chat-With-A-Librarian service on our website.

AARP will meet with taxpayers and conduct a brief interview as taxpayers drop off relevant documents with AARP. Taxpayers will then wait in another area of the Library while AARP finishes preparing the returns. A short time later, taxpayers will reconvene with AARP to sign their documents and pick up their copy of the return.

*Tax Preparation: I understand in order to receive tax assistance, I must bring the following: photo ID, Social Security Card (or Social Security statement or a copy of the return the AARP Tax preparers from this site from last year), all statements regarding income (examples: W2, SSA, 1099), and a copy of last year's returns.

*Tax Preparation: I will bring my IRS Pin Number if I have one.

*Tax Preparation: I will arrive 15 minutes before my scheduled appointment to fill out necessary paperwork.
